    Merry Christmas, Thanos.

I have something positive to say about the AEW section here.
    I positively loathe it.

Keep fighting the good fight here. Enjoy the holidays and I'm sure I'll see you around.

Thanks! Hope the Blue Jays have a great year!

I think you may very well be right about that Warriors/Raps NBA Finals matchup! We'll see! Dubs have a whole lotta injuries at the moment which is too bad but better now than a month from now, eh? Good luck to the Raps! :D

Unfortunately, I can't edit these posts, so to issue a correction in my last post, I meant to say that WWE would keep Styles, not lose him.

Also, if they're gonna compete, I don't think they can just have Omega, Bryan and Punk and that's enough. They need to kick start it the way WCW did, where they had Hogan join. That means they need a bigger star. If Bryan or Punk were pushed as hard as Cena, they could do it, but they're seen at a certain level even with their overness. They need Brock, they need Cena, they need somebody that can come in that will just shake the foundation of the wrestling world. For lack of a better phrase, they need to steal somebody that'll make Vince piss himself.

By the way, I realize I went on quite the tangent and forced you to read a lot, but I got going and that's what happens sometimes. You don't have to reply to all of this if you don't want to, don't feel obligated because I'll be offended or something, I won't be.

I agree, though, I want a reason to get rid of WWE, and if they had an alternative, not New Japan, but a REAL alternative, if they had a real, genuine, WWE could be put out of business competitor, like WCW, they would lose a lot of their top guys. They'd keep Roman (and honestly, please do keep him. We don't want him. Roman is a godsend for a competitor of WWE.), they'd probably keep Braun, they might keep Rollins because of how well they treat him, they'd probably lose Styles because he's already close to retirement and he only joined WWE to retire on good money, but I'm sure they'd lose Owens and Zayn, I'm sure they'd lose Cesaro, I'm sure they'd lose Ambrose, who's probably dying to be creatively unleashed. He might stay if the deal they offer him is insane, because WWE can't afford to lose The Shield. I'm sure they'd lose Bray. I'm sure they'd lose Nakamura, especially if they entice him there to be with his old friends, etc.

Sadly, I don't think competition is possible. WWE just has too much of a hold on things. Yeah, if a billionaire wants to put a ton of money into it, I guess they could, but it just doesn't seem likely. I do know this, if it's gonna compete with WWE, they can't be a Japanese company, named and operated out of Japan. That's just not gonna compete with WWE. They have to make it a global, and primarily they have to make it an American organization. Change the name, the top guys have to be mostly North American/UK. That's just the way it has to be to break into the US majorly. You can still have Okada and Naito and Ishii and whatnot, I'm not saying just brush the whole roster under the rug, but Japanese wrestling, for better or worse is always going to be a niche.

No pacing issues, I thought they told an incredible story. Both of their selling of injuries they sustained during the match (storyline injuries I mean) were incredible, especially Okadas selling, which was the primary story of the match, the sequences were incredible, etc. I just couldn't believe it. The other thing that I like, and unfortunately, New Japan has also fallen into the WWE trap of kicking out of finishers, like the Rainmaker, which I don't like (maybe ONE, if the match is big enough, but not two, three, four, etc) but they don't do it with Omega. When Omega hits the One Winged Angel, it's over. It's not maybe over, it's not gonna take two, it's not gonna take three, it's OVER. I appreciate the fact that SOMETHING is actually protected these days. I'm sure when they wrestle again, Okada will probably kick out of it, but for now at least, and the story they told, it was absolutely the correct decision.

All I know is, Omega is in his prime in New Japan, and what I've seen is unprecedented.

Which Omega/Okada? I assume you're referring to the Tokyo Dome match because that's the most famous one. For me, personally, even though I think the first and the second one are great, they are hour long matches, so there are pacing issues, there are down moments where I'm waiting for things to pick up, etc. Which I get. Flair and Steamboat paced their matches similarly. When you go an hour, you have to conserve your energy. The one that REALLY got me was the third match. I know the second one is the highest rated match in history and the third match, like the first match is only rated a measly six stars, as opposed to the second which is a 6 1/4, which means the third is only the second or third greatest match in history according to Meltzer ~_~, but the third one just goes by so briskly. They went just a hair under 25 minutes. Perfect.

Yeah, I'm surprised that I'm that taken by anything that happens in ring. I didn't think anybody could reach a level where that would be enough for me. It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to in ring work. AJ Styles is considered by many people to be the best in the world, does NOTHING for me. Nothing. Daniel Bryan, I absolutely love his in ring work, but not enough to make me want to see him pushed on that alone. I appreciate his work as much as I can appreciate ring work (so I thought), but I'm still not interested in seeing a major push for him. Now granted, I suppose you could make the argument that if Daniel Bryan were wrestling Okada or Omega in NJPW (in his prime, because he'll be wrestling them later this year) he might be just as good as Omega, because Omega certainly wouldn't be this good in WWE, because they don't let you be.

Now, granted, Okada is just as great as Omega, most people consider him better. I could've put Okada in my list, but I just prefer Omega. Maybe it's because I relate to him more, since I'm not Japanese, maybe it's because I like his moveset better, maybe it's partly how good his theme song is, maybe it's all of that. They are just as good as each other, I just prefer Omega...because I do. I don't really know how else to articulate it.

He's for sure the best wrestler I've ever seen from North America, and that's saying a lot, considering we've produced Angle, Benoit, Bryan, etc. I never thought I'd think anyone could top those guys but he has for me.

So here's my thing with Omega. I don't like the over the top antics, some of the mic work I've seen is VERY cringy, and that was my initial impression, a guy with a very cringy gimmick, BUT, when I see him do interviews and podcasts and whatnot, and he talks in his normal voice, I enjoy listening to him, and his views are in line with what the average fan wants to see. Not that interviews have anything to do with how good of a talker you are, or if I'm a fan of someone, because even guys who suck on the mic give good interviews. However, what really sold me on him, and I know this is gonna sound hypocritical coming from me, given all I've said, is his in ring work. He is SO GOD DAMN MOTHERFUCKING AMAZING in the ring. I know I've said I'm not an in ring guy, but the work in New Japan is so far above the level that I've ever seen in WWE that it's, I can't say it's turned me into a workrate mark, because it hasn't, but it's made me look at it in a new light.

Thank you. It does look pretty damn awesome. Hopefully, we get mass casualties.

Thanks for the kind words. I truly do appreciate it. You take care, my friend. I'll do my best to recover. Please take care of yourself. :)

I think I've found someone else who's just as disappointed about Inhumans as you are....
