He was put over established talent from the Attitude Era and the Attitude Era fans took this as "shoving him down their throats." When, in fact that's how you push a new top guy. You have to have him beat the already established guys. That's why he beat Jericho, Angle, Edge, Triple H in such a short time, they were building him up as the next top face. It was to solidify him as the top guy in the company. Austin didn't have to do that. When Austin began top face, all the 80's star were over in WCW, so they have to establish other guys for him to beat to put him over.

That's why I started to hate Cena, when he was beating all the guys I was use too seeing. But Triple H was the final straw. When he beat Triple H I couldn't stand him anymore. He was winning all the time and the internet and Youtube just fueled by hate of his character. Luckily I realized why he's being pushed and why he wins all the time. He's the top face.

Some fans can't move on from Stone Cold Steve Austin. Their use to the beer-drinking, ass kicking redneck. Now, we have a clean-cut superstar who's about Hustle Loyalty and Respect. He's about do the right thing. He's completely opposite of Stone Cold.
Completely DISAGREE.

You look at his change in character. He first started pandering to the fans, wearing the home town sports hero's jerseys, kissing up to them. He toned down his character and became bland. His matches became more predictable. Imagine if Stone Cold started to listen to authority, do you think fans would start turning on him? Or if D-X became more PC and less explicit. Or if Jericho toned down his personality to that of Lance Storm. They're all going to get turned on by a portion of the crowd.

That was why I stopped marking for him. I actually brought a "Chain Gang is Going To 'Mania" sign to the '05 Royal Rumble. It wasn't until around 2008 that I started to dislike him because it was always the same thing. Then it was when he'd continue to play up his "underdog" card and how he still hasn't had a WM moment that was the final straw for me. C'mon now. Really? If you're an underdog, then teams like the New York Yankees or Manchester United are underdogs.

Just like last year in his feud with The Rock. yes, The Rock is an icon and one of the GOATs ever but Cena's had more big wins in his career than the Rock has in his but yet Cena is the huge underdog? Give me a f'n break!
