Re: WWE 2013 - A New Path
Monday Night Raw News & Notes
-We've come to find out that the WWE and Kurt Angle had reached a deal weeks ago for Angle to make a return to the WWE. Creative were said to be eager to throw him right back into a high-profile feud and thought that returning him heel and having him go up against John Cena, with all their history, was the perfect idea.
-It's believed that Angle has signed a year-long, lucrative contract and that he has not just been brought in to feud with Cena and then duck back out again. Several plans are being discussed regarding Angle and his future past this program with Cena, including potential feuds with Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, Brock Lesnar and others.
-The biggest shocked from Raw this past week was obviously Antonio Cesaro dropping the US Championship to the debuting Xavier Woods. With WWE looking to bring in young, new exciting talent and wanting to push Cesaro higher up the ladder, this was the perfect time to take the title off of him, they felt. Now the crowd can rally behind the young up and coming Woods and Cesaro can go on to challenge for the WWE Championship sometime in the future.
-WWE Creative is said to be very high on several superstars right now. We already mentioned Cesaro moving up, but there have been internal discussions of pushes for both Ted DiBiase and Brodus Clay. It seems as though they are pushing a destructive Brodus Clay, so look for him to look very strong heading into the Elimination Chamber.
-When asked about two members of The Shield being involved in the Elimination Chamber, Vince McMahon announced that in order to ensure that everyone was given a fair opportunity, both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins would begin inside one chamber and when their pod opened, both could enter. As to who will be starting the Elimination Chamber, Vickie Guerrero announced that she will determine that on next week's Raw.
Friday Night SmackDown Preview
-SmackDown GM Booker T has announced a HUGE Main Event for this weeks SmackDown as Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston will take on Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus. Meanwhile Big Show and Randy Orton are being forced to team together, as they take on the PrimeTime Players.
-Mark Henry is scheduled to make his return from injury and many people feel like he is on his last bit of legs, wrestling-wise. So, look for creative to push him strong for the next several months before he ultimately bows out and retires sometime in the summer. The Intercontinental Title will also be put on the line this Friday Night, Wade Barrett defending against Tyson Kidd.
-With several superstars tied up inside the Elimination Chamber, WWE Creative is still determining what they want to do with Ryback heading into the pay per view. Given the fact that he has a World Heavyweight Title shot coming his way at WrestleMania, some writers have suggested he be left off the card entirely. It remains to be seen what direction they decide to ultimately go in.
