Well they didn't introduce the WrestleMania sign ever year at the Royal Rumble until 2004 for the big promotion to WrestleMania XX, but the first person I remember doing the "point to sign tradition" was John Cena in 2008.
Well they didn't introduce the WrestleMania sign ever year at the Royal Rumble until 2004 for the big promotion to WrestleMania XX, but the first person I remember doing the "point to sign tradition" was John Cena in 2008. Every year since then the winner has done it - Orton, Edge, Del Rio, and Sheamus.
No idea, I wish they would stop it though. I hate those fake ass poses and forced staredowns they do now. They don't "tell the story" story is already being told and been told the whole evening.
Others have done it before, but Ortons was first time I really noticed it. Cause he was pointing at it for like 3-4 mins lol. Cause WWE couldn't get the pyros going off or something. lol, or it was payback for punting Mr.McMahon.
I don't mind the focus on the WM logo and the pyros going off around it, but I'd rather no sign pointing. Just a superstar doing their usual pose, and the camera angle being perfect so that the WM sign with the pyros goes off and the rumble winner with their usual pose is below it.
I don't remember exactly. But I think they didn't turn the pyros on because Orton was supposed to be on the turnbuckle pointing. He was just standing in the middle of the ring looking stupid until a ref told him
