It's a really tough game to call, two very good teams and there really isn't much between us and them. I get the feeling it will be a draw, it's probably going to be the kind of game where the players are more focused on not losing rather than winning.

Hopefully he can keep up that form, he's going to be vital in our title push!

So glad this Pogba saga is finally (almost) over as well.

Tell me about it, if only we could have kept Pogba and let Cleverley go instead :mj2

On the positive, the way the team is shaping up we should be finishing at least 2nd.

Hey man it's been a while . What do you think of this Pogba to United transfer?

Amazing player no doubt, but over 100 million is risky business.

Just put on the RAW after SummerSlam 2004. The Orton promo to start. Now he's insulting the 24 year olds in the audience that he's better than. This is good stuff. So long ago, won't happen again. :mj2

did you ponder the statement that Larry & Sy may be one in the same? It could be a lot deeper than simply "they're actually the same person". I'm talking, they're two halves that could ideally make a whole. Sy is kind of the pillar of the community Larry would want himself to be. The whole "a serious man" spiel at Sy's funeral. The car accidents in unison really solidifies some unknown parallel within both characters.

Film is totally hilarious, too. Don't let that be lost. JUST LOOK AT THAT PARKING LOT.

A couple of phrases sum up what the Coen's were attempting to figure out throughout the film. "Help me, save me", the lyrics to the signature Jefferson Airplane track that plays at the beginning and end, & my favorite, "Accept the mystery". Latter is uttered in such a subtle, pure Coen brothers way, that it can slip by you. Being said by the father of the Korean student only swerves to make it more perplexing, granted the nature of their discussion was to either accept a bribe or be sued for not accepting a bribe.

The uncertainty of faith is there in spades. At the same time, while by the end you feel it's more of a realization (taking the decade into consideration, more than say the "average" thought process now from most folk) that nothing exists up above, there's still the open idea that maybe there could be a God. And wrath is his only way of telling folks he, as an entity, is always watching. I'm not sure which is bleaker to be honest. Accepting life is random and meaningless. (which I happen to personally do) Or accepting that you are being watched by the spirits you are told to believe in and knowing one bit of doubt or false modesty could seal your fate anytime, anywhere.

    Various thoughts:

Sy Ableman is the best passive aggressive bully ever. The scene where he shows up to Larry's house after the news of the impending divorce; he hugs Larry, followed by strong-arming him into the kitchen to insist he share some wine w/him all while he shoves Larry into the cupboard like a total prick. Yet, he's there b/c he "cares". You keep waiting and waiting for Larry to finally stand up to do something, anything. Yet he doesn't. Well, he does in one area. Perhaps one that may have one small area of reflection towards his fate in the end.

Twin Peaks is one of the greatest TV shows of all time. The film is even better; my favorite David Lynch joint, at that.

I wrote a bit about A Serious Man elsewhere. I'll post it for you. btw, I watched Hail, Caesar! today. It was genius. Left thoughts on that in the Movie Thread.

I watched it. I watched A Serious Man. It's amazing. Ending leaves you shattered.

I'm tired, so take this tiny piece for now. Thought I'd let you know that after FOUR MONTHS, I came through.

Did I tell you that the download I got of it was false and it gave me a completely different film? So yeah, I dropped the ball. I'll get it rn b/c even outside of leaving you hanging, I really have been itching to return to it. (found a proper link atm fwiw)

I won't hold my breath for Hail, Caesar to leak anytime soon, but it'll be swell if it does. I just happen to hope it isn't too screwball oriented, b/c I feel the Coens haven't hit their stride among that area of comedy.

Nah, I don't use a tracker. It's mostly redundant and a lot of torrents these days are p. efficient w/o the need of peer to peer sharing. Or perhaps I'm just an insane leech. Could be the latter.

He played the game the previous two times I ran this and kept making last minute changes to matches...then his original prediction ending up being the official result and he kept costing himself points doing that.

Pretty much what you've done a couple times now :lmao

    Has to be the second.

Ravenholm is just perfect. And the Grav Gun is a ton of fun.
