Officials in Houston, Texas say that several people have been shot at a local community college.
Police are on the scene of a Texas community college where shots were fired shortly after 12 this afternoon.
Authorities have detained one person and are searching for another suspect in the vicinity after at least one gunman opened fire at Lone Star College's North Harris campus Tuesday afternoon. One suspect, a black male estimated to be between 18 and 20 years old, was seen fleeing the area, KPRC News reports.
Eyewitnesses tell KTRK News that several gunshots were heard this afternoon outside of a classroom. At least one person has been taken to a local hospital, and a SWAT team has been called to the scene. Preliminary reports suggest that there are at least three victims, although the status of all those involved has yet to be made public. According to ABC13, however, two of the victim has suffered “multiple gunshot wounds” and are in serious condition en route to a local hospital.
Jed Young, executive director of the school, tells CNN that two people are believed to have fired shots at one another, catching passersby in the crossfire.
The school has since ordered a bulletin that reads, “Students, Faculty and Staff are advised to take immediate shelter where you are. Do not enter the campus until notified further.” As a precaution, other schools in the area have been locked down.
"We know that shots have been fired and we are in a shelter-in-place situation on the campus," said Vicki Cassidy, manager of media relations for Lone Star College System, tells the Houston Chronicle. "It's a pretty chaotic scene at this point in time."

I was thinking the same thing. This is the media just sensationalizing another story. They keep glancing over the fact that this was a community college. lol.

It wouldn't surprise me if anti-gun groups were hiring people for the shootings.
Don't be ridiculous. This is just the media following a trend by emphasizing certain stories with certain themes. The "zombie" story in Florida is a perfect example. For a few weeks, a bunch of delusional people almost believed that a zombie apocalypse was occurring.

On a side note, does anyone find it strange that the guy in Florida who ate someone's face was immediately suspected of using bath salts but the autopsy supposedly found only marijuana? That didn't make any sense.

Is it just me, or is this sensationalist news crap getting on anyone else's nerves? It used to be a shooter killing 3 people was just a local news story, not fucking national. 3 people is an insignificant number, how many people are in this country? 3/300,000,000+ That's not even 0.00000001 %, that's fucking negligible, let me know when someone goes nuts and blows up an NFL stadium during a game or something, this is fucking nothing.
