I thought that last year too (losing at Chamber). . .then he won anyway. Ever since then I've been 100% sure he was going to win every single time with the exception of one of the matches he had with Cena.

Yep, exactly. Every time Punk gets close to some new number, the new cry is always "just until he gets to the next number", then some excuse for why he still shouldn't drop it.

Reality: He should've lost it about 10 months ago and maybe won it back 2 months ago. This reign never should have happened in the first place imo. It's been boring and put no one over besides CM Punk. And tbh, I think it's arguable that it didn't even put Punk over either. He's no more popular now than he was this time last year. If anything he's less popular (and this was the case even before the heel turn).
