CSI was dead in the water long before that. When they started branching out to Miami and New York while competing with other crime dramas like NCIS was when they started spreading themselves too thin with absolute shit story lines spread across 3 shows. And now, well, they have fucking Ted Danson as the lead CSI tech after playing Becker and Sam Malone, two very "trapping roles" where the actor who plays them will forever be linked to them? They couldn't try to make themselves less credible if they hired Ed O'Neill to play the part.
