Hello guys, I'm just a noob here. I had just registered my account few seconds ago.
I was watching a video which Triple HHH beat The Rock for the WWE Champion. Shawn Michaels was the special guest referee. something got me interested was that Shane McMahon was on Triple H's side.
as I remember, The Rock was a pro-Vince McMahon. but, in this match Mr. McMahon's son was on The Rock's opponent's side.
what does it mean? does it mean Shane and Vince had some kind of problem?
Shane stepped into the ring to face Randy Orton when The Viper had a feud against McMahon family, meaning he was in his father's side.
Alignments change all the time in wrestling, especially in WWE. There have been times when Shane has been on Vince's side, times where he hasn't been on Vince's side, times where he seemed that he was on Vince's side when he actually wasn't and even times when it seemed that he wasn't on Vince's side, but they were actually in cahoots all along. Same goes for The Rock, really. WWE goes with whatever serves the purpose of the storyline at the moment.
I remember the match you're talking about. I believe that was during Triple H's first or second reign as WWE Champion, and Shane was indeed heavily aligned with him during that time period. He even helped Hunter win his first WWE Championship from Mankind on RAW, the night after SummerSlam 1999. Eventually, Shane sided with Big Show, instead of Triple H, but then after Vince sided with Triple H at WrestleMania 2000, Shane once again sided with Triple H and Vince. Just goes to show you how much things change in WWE.
The first episode of SD! I was so excited because they were gonna go with an alignment of the original DX and Shane, but I think HBK left for a few months right after that episode. Anyways I'm not sure if Vince returned just yet, but shortly after he was against HHH.
I miss Shane-o-mac I always thought he had great chemistry in programs with The Great One and it was obvious Shane's admiration (almost fanboyism) to The Rock
Its all a storyline everybody gets on when they go backstage
