I'd say so.
I can listen to underground hardcore punk from the 80's one minute, and synthpop, italo disco, electro house the next.
For example I might listen back to back to say Youth Brigade or X-Ray Spex, and then Giorgio Moroder or Tangerine Dream.
Pretty opposite on the spectrum I'd say.
