Default Worst gimmick to go the furthest?

What's the worst gimmick to go the furthest?

We've all seen shocking gimmicks over the years, and on a different forum recently that is a shrine to all of these I got to thinking which one has gone the furthest?

And for those you can think of and know of, what would you say the reasons are behind some gimmicks getting over so well and continuing and others, basically, falling at the first hurdle?

Is the Undertaker a bad gimmick? I don't mean the 2013 streak holder, multi-time champion and multi MOTY candiddate The Undertaker, but upon his debut and with vignettes of him literally undertaking is this the most successful bad gimmick of all-time?

Who else do you think?
