Well wearing any of the light armor that has no poise is difficult. It's the only way I roll though. While the light armor does have defense where as no armor doesn't, without poise anything that hits you stun locks you and against any good enemy that's a death sentence.
But playing that way you learn how to dodge and use speed to your advantage. I suggest you try it, Soup. Check out that calamity ring assassin run walkthrough I sent you via PM. It's amazing.
