Baretta was signed to a developmental deal in 2008 and first appeared on the main roster of the company as one half of the Dudebusters with Caylen Croft.
After Croft was released from the company, Baretta moved into a low level singles run, most notably getting a surprise win over Drew McIntyre in 2011.
Baretta was forced out of the ring later that year with a torn biceps, leading to a "Where's Trent" joke online amongst WWE talents, including Zack Ryder's Youtube series. Even after he recovered, he was only used sparingly by WWE.
Baretta is already booked for Pro Wrestling Syndicate over Wrestlemania weekend in Metuchen, NJ, where he will be facing Sonjay Dutt. For more, visit www.ProWrestlingSyndicate.com.
WWE RELEASES UNDERWAY
By Mike Johnson on 2013-01-11 17:24:21 We have heard from multiple sources that WWE is about to release some talents. If and when we confirm names, we will have them here. Stay tuned.
Just heard the news on WWE releasing Trent poor guy never stood a chance he has so much talent yet WWE never used him right. I just cant believe they release him yet they keep JTG, Great Khali, Hornswoggle around who do fuck all in the company
So they talk about bringing mid carders back who are solid ring workers, but then go and release one of the most talented wrestlers they have. And not to mention was alot more charismatic than most on the roster. Good job WWE.
Trent and AJ used to go out so I think hes taking shots at her and possibly exposing how she got her push. So she was a nerdy girl and nobody liked her in the company and then all of a sudden she got this push she must of done alot of ass kissing and possibly sucking too on Vince :vince to get to where she is today
Kobra860 I only used those examples of JTG, Great Khali, Hornswoggle as they dont do much in the company and better talent like Trent should of had their spots
JTG had his time years back but he never made it big so he should of been released when Shad got released. Where as Trent is only in his 20's he has alot to give but WWE just never used him it really must suck to have so much talent but nobody wants to use you.
Anyways I hope TNA hire Trent and let him show the talent that WWE missed out on
I can think of a couple reasons why the WWE would release Trent because of AJ. 1) She broke up with him so to make things less awkward and uncomfortable they released him. 2) She's dating someone in a much higher position so they released him to make things less awkward. 3) They didn't like that one of their top stars was dating one of the undercarders. 4) AJ being in such a high position made the WWE view Trent as a beta male, and as a result they saw even less in him than before and finally released him.
WWE needs jobbers just as much as they need main eventers. For some guys, jobbing for life means they have a job for life. Just ask the Brooklyn Brawler.
Really sorry to see Trent Barreta released by WWE. The guy had his own distinct personality and I liked him. I put this decision on a par with the release of John Morrison, another fine wrestler who Vince sadly let go who deserved better treatment.
I can't even find his profile anywhere on WWE.com. Usually when they release someone, they put their profile in the Alumni section, but they haven't even done that for him. lol. Wonder why they released him, cause after all this time, I figured he was one of the safe ones.
