This could be a perfect storyline for him to return to, how Vince is still very bitter towards Bret and he continues to stick it to him by humiliating Natalya constantly, firing DH Smith and never giving Tyson a chance and knew that when Punk said his name on live TV, it'd give Kidd extra attention that Vince doesn't want on him. It's a great storyline because most of it's true.
I'm willing to bet though he was injured before Raw and that's why Punk mentioned him.
