A few years ago I had developed flu-like symptoms with a nasty cough, went to the doctor and he just told me to rest and do all the usual things you'd do with a bad cold. The next day, I woke up in the middle of the night, unable to breathe and too weak to move. Luckily I wasn't alone, and an ambulance was called. I was completely out by this point, the next thing I remember was waking up in intensive care. Turns out I had pneumonia, and a very serious bout of it as well. If I was alone that night, I would have died, there's no way I would have been able to call an ambulance in the state I was in.
