My favorite games this year has to be Tribes Ascend, Hawken, Xcom, Borderlands 2 and Max Payne 3.

I know that War Z is still in Beta mode, frustrating to some and got cut from Steam due to the developers misguiding customers by telling them the game had features that weren't yet implimented, but I became absolutely addicted to that game. It's perhaps the closest you'll get to an actual Zombie Apocalypse survival experience that feels like real life. Hard as fuck, but you get the hang of it after a while. Better than Day Z imo.

Another great little gem was Mark of the Ninja, short but sweet.
