5) Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe - Winner Take All Match- TNA Hard Justice 2007
Okay, according to the recap and build to this match TNA took the Days of Our lives approach with Karen Angle in the mix.
A ton of gold on the line here.
It's pretty clear these guys have chemistry.
Joe cuts a good promo before the match that we get to see.
Fourth match against on the dvd, five if you count Slam 07 against other participants.
Angle drops one of his belts during his entrance. Funny stuff.
The match is on!
You had to think Angle had the upperhand on Joe from their series alone, just barely and neither man forgot it going into this war.
Angle and Joe tie-up and are backed to the corner, Angle hits a side headlock takeover.
Joe takes him out of the ring.
Out walks Karen "Angle" and the new man in her life and Angl now has this on his mind.
I think what's interesting is this could take Angle off his game or fire him up. In the first disc documentary we learned Angle works better when something bad happens to a personal life.
Angle goes for an overhead armbar. Joe forces him out of the ring again and takes a moment. Angle circles around the ring. Angle in a side headlock now. Joe again mixed with Karen kissing her new man is throwing Angle off. Angle with a top wristlock and then is thrown down to the mat.
Fans in favor of Joe. Joe sizing Angle up waiting for an oppurtunity, again off the ropes Joe blocks an Angle shot and maintains his grip in a side headlock, and off the ropes they repeat that same scenerio until Angle backs off and takes off his straps.
This is good, really good.
I love this wrestling style, sunset flip from Angle and he makes an ASS out of himself. Angle finally takes off to Karen who poors alcohol in his face and Angle is rolled back in the ring after Joe slaps him.
Back inside Joe lands down on Angle and got a two count. Joe reversed into the corner but he side-stepped Angle sending him shoulder first into the ring-post. Joe delivers shots to Angle inthe corner. Joe chokes him out in the corner. Angle out of no where catches a break and hits a belly to belly suplex followed by a European uppercut.
Angle furious stared at Karen and began to use his anger for motivation to stomp on Joe relentlessly in the corner before gaining a nearfall on suplex. Angle with a big choke to Joe.
A lets go Angle, lets go Joe chant fills the TNA arena. Angle with a German.
A second one hanging onto a near three hundred pounder. Before the third one, Joe countered the third having it scouted and flipped Angle over to the mat. Tossed him overhead, released suplex. Great stuff.
Angle and Joe release right's, punch for punch. Off the ropes Joe lands a clothesline and Angle irishwhipped Joe to the ropes and he hit a hiplock. Angle to the corner elbows Joe but Samoa Joe gets up high with an incredible kick, amazing agility and that move gets a long two.
Great stuff here.
Joe up, Angle down. Samoa Joe's eyes are raked and a release or RANDOM suplex by Angle. Joe slapped an amazing suplex out of the corner on Angle and got another two. Fans chant for Joe.
Joe tried a Muscle Buster but Angle gets an Ankle lock. Joe reverses with a clutch out of the corner, then an ankle lock, Joe out and then off the ropes a roll-up, and a two. Amazing sequence.
Joe then hit with an Olympic Slam and manages to kickout!
Angle another European uppercut in the corner. Angle with a big shot to Joe but his headbutts off the top and Angle goes down to the mat.
Joe took a little bit long and Angle jumps up and suplexes him from the top. Nearfall. Fans chant for Joe and Angle uses the chants and Karen as motivation, Angle hits a moonsault up top and misses. Joe chops Angle up high. Joe hits a muscle buster and Angle barely kicked out.
THIS IS how you book a climax!
Angle up and now Joe from behind with a rear choke into his clutch, dead cnter of the ring, Angle in trouble. Kurt bites the hand and gets the Ankle Lock applied. Angle rolled through back into the choke.
Yes, we've seen this before but it's still great.
Fans chant that this is awesome, after a break of the hold the referee goes down. Joe chokes out Angle and he taps, no ref. Angle with a lowblow and Joe goes down. Karen grabs a chair and Joe crawls towards it. Karen pulled it away and the swerve takes place.
Karen handed it to Angle!
In the end at 18:30 TNA World Heavyweight and IWGP Third Belt Champion Kurt Angle defeated Samoa Joe to win the TNA X Division and World Tag Team Championship by hitting Joe in the head via chairshot.
This is one of the greatest TNA matches I've ever seen.
Everything was booked tremendously. It had everything you need.

6) Kurt Angle (c) vs Jay Lethal - X-Division Title Match- TNA No Surrender 2007
I feel the Madness.
Blaaaack Machismo!
Ahhh, Jay Lethal one of my favourites, I dig it.
Angle and him had a contrast in style's which will make this one interesting.
Angle said his favourite match was with Lethal and elevating stars like him is what made TNA what it's all about, Jarrett agreed.
Jay Lethal and Angle go toe to toe quickly in a quality match.
Black Machismo comes out to Macho's theme and attire and I love it.
Angle shakes his head.
Lets go Lethal is chanted and Angle is shocked Lethal out-wrestles him with chain-wrestling on the armbar. Lethal with a headlock off the ropes and applies a shoulder block, off the ropes Angle hits a standard hiplock and smiled in cocky fashion.
I love this start.
Another vicious tie-up, Angle has the confidence and experience as the veteran making him the favourite grounding Lethal to the ground with a side headlock. Angle leap over Lethal this time and now the tables turn, Lethal hit a hiplock and a flip over into a dropkick into Angle's face.
Lethal hits a drop axehandle and then Angle throws Lethal's body into the corner rapid fire. Angle stomps on Lethal. Angle with a backbreaker. Angle the aggressor with a front facelock into a vertical suplex and he gets a two.
Angle with a half body scissors wrapping his legs around Lethal's body executing his fortay, the mat game. Soona full body scissors, textbook offense by the Champ.
Lethal elbows out but Angle catches him in mid-air hitting a back breaker. Angle picks up Lethal and slams him to the mat. Kurt drives his knee into the back of Lethal and hits an uppercut to Lethal. Angle with a back suplex and now the frustration by Angle sets in as he pulls the neck of Lethal.
Angle hits a suplex on Lethal after he elbows out of a headlock again and a suplex takes both men down. Lethal up first and uses his quickness to duck under Angle and apply a headscissors.
Machismo with a Inziguri and a two!
Lethal lays shots on Angle and then Angle with a waist-lock go behind releases suplex tossing him all the way over and another two.
Angle stomps on the mat waiting for Jay and he scooped him up and Angle falls back, Lethal goes for a desperation count. Lethal points up high and signals for an elbow while still selling the back fromthe suplex.
Angle caught him up high and hit a belly to belly.
Angle gets a two. An Ankle Lock now. Kicked to the corner and Machismo with a quick roll-up and he got a two. Angle with a German. Angle still with the grip and number three is hit. Lethal kicks out!
Angle mad. Fans chant Lethal's awesome. Angle goes for the suplex and Lethal hits the Lethal combination and A MACHO Elbow. Just a two.
Lethal in position for a piledriver and series of counters and nearfalls don't go over and a release German by Angle takes down Lethal. Angle takes off his straps and goes for an Angle Slam but Lethal counters it into a roll-up, Angle counters it into an Ankle Lock.
Lethal counters into a roll-up and the place goes crazy!
So in the end Lethal pinned Angle by reversing an Ankle Lock into a roll-up at 12:19 to become the X-Division Champion.
This match is a lot like Angle versus Mysterio at Summerslam 02 with the length, the quality, the aerial skill, they both include Angle and I have them at the same rating.
Fun stuff.

This was a bit over-booked during the climax but that doesen't take away from how great of a match it really was.
This match was just as good as I expected.
A borderline classic from two of the all time greats!

8) Kurt Angle (w/Karen Angle) vs Sting (c) - TNA Title Match -TNA Impact! 10/28/07

Same formula!
Sting has the deathlock set in until Nash tries to interupt the action. Nash is knocked off the apron. Angle hits the Olympic Slam and calls for an official and Hebner counts the three for Angle.
This was okay for a TV match. Definitely some good spots, the climax was a bit sloppy, the worst match on the DVD up to this point but I can see why it was placed here.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Rating for Kurt Angle TNA DVD = 8/10
This was different for me but I went into this one with an open mind, Dixie Carter calls Kurt Angle the greatest of all time. Okay, I'll ignore that comment and pay attention to the greatness on the DVD.
The Documentay inbetween the matches was an interesting way to go about it. Perhaps a little too much of Joe but it was understandable why it was the way it was.
This set featured a great Documentary and Ten great matches. For what they gave us it was mostly quality so certainly no complaints there. I'd suggest picking it up, no complaints here, I enjoyed this one!
