Monday Night Raw Preview
January 24th, 2011
Joe Louis Arena | Detroit, Michigan

We are six short nights before the Road To Wrestlemania well and truly begins. Monday Night Raw's final stop? Detroit, Michigan - And the Motor City have a hell of a show lined up for them tonight, on this cold, January evening.

Following the vicious assault he executed last week on his number one contender for the Royal Rumble, The Miz has been punished by the Anonymous Raw General Manager by being placed in a one on one match with an unknown opponent. In case you didn't catch it last week, The Viper successfully brushed off the WWE Champion's apprentice, Alex Riley, by pinning his shoulders to the mat after a devastating RKO - But it was the aftermath that caused all of the controversy, as 'The Awesome One' blindsided Orton and orchestrated a maniacal attack on The Apex Predator, zoning in on the left ankle. We, at WWE.Com have received reports from medical personel that ideally, Orton shouldn't even be competing at The Royal Rumble, but as ever, The Viper will battle through the pain and his date with The Miz is still confirmed. You have to presume that The Miz isn't best pleased about being in action just six days before his title defence. Who is The Miz's mystery opponent? Will Randy Orton be in Detroit tonight? How will it all play out ahead of their collision course in the TD Garden in just over 120 hours time?

In the main event of the evening, we shall be seeing a small preview of the main event for the pay-per-view it's self, as we will see an over the top battle royal to determine who will earn the right to enter the match at the infamous number 30, after Daniel Bryan successfully defeated Smackdown's Dolph Ziggler to earn Monday Night Raw that right. It's no secret that the later you enter the Royal Rumble match, the fresher you are and the bigger the chance of you winning and main eventing Wrestlemania, and it is for that reason that each and every single Raw superstar entering the rumble is frothing at the mouth for that position. Who will be the last man standing inside of the squared circle? Who will gain a distinct advantage when it comes to The Royal Rumble, and ultimately mean eventing Wrestlemania 27? You'll find out in our main event, tonight!

Speaking of The Royal Rumble match, there are still a few spots up for grabs, as Raw's qualifying matches continue - and end - tonight. The World's Strongest Man, Mark Henry, will lock horns with Long Island Iced Z, Zack Ryder, in what truly is a clash of styles-type affair. Keeping up with the theme of mystery opponents tonight, the final qualifying match pits The Nexus' A-List superstar and Harvard graduate, David Otunga, against an unknown superstar. The only thing we do know, from hints from the Anonymous General Manager, is that he is a returning Superstar who hasn't been seen due to a "reality check"? Who will David's opponent be? Will Zack Ryder be able to overcome the behemoth that is Mark Henry? And whomever the winners are, will they pull off two victories in one night and cement their place as number 30, by also winning tonight's main event?

Rounding off tonight's card will be an drama-filled, intergender, six person tag team match, combining two explosive feuds that have boiled over, over the past couple of weeks on Raw, and will come to ahead at The Royal Rumble, as Nexus representatives, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater pair up with the Papparazzi Princes, Melina, to square off against the WWE Tag Team Champions - Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov - alongside the WWE Divas Champion, Natalya Neidhart. The trios may not be familiar with each other and may not even like each other, but the only thing that is guaranteed is fireworks, and that is putting it lightly.

All of this plus much, much more, as Monday Night Raw takes it's final pit stop ahead of one of the most spectacular Sports Entertainment events of the year.
