It's because in MMA, they don't have to deal with anyone holding anyone else down. Everybody is ranked where they should be because of their wins and loses. Nor is it creatively controlled, so no can talk about why they're getting pushed and what not.
Everyone basically keeps to themselves in MMA. There's no backstage comradery in MMA like there is in WWE. For one, you don't have to hang around the same people for 340 days a year on the road.
So basically, in MMA, everyone knows their place because they know that guys can put a whoopin' on them.
