Re: Indy Wrestler Question
In today's world it's about impossible to live on independent wrestling bookings alone. Those that get deals in Japan are probably the best well off, they pay pretty good there even for the younger guys, especially when compared to some American companies. Most indy wrestlers are signed up with SAG for extra work and stunt work stuff like that, they are in a million things we never notice them in. To be honest I think one of the guys working the indies currently that may be the best well off is Shawn Daivari. He had those years in WWE had wrestlemania appearances and all that, and invested it well, but even without that the guy is so smart. He's into real estate and stocks and everything else. Someone in indy wrestling now has to do that. They have to diversify because money isn't going to come in in the amounts they need to live on when you consider injuries and general maintenance on their bodies just from wrestling. There just aren't enough indy companies and those companies just don't make enough money.
