The purpose of the shows is the same purpose of any TV show -- be entertaining and make money.
If the OP doesn't like watching all the that wrestling then he can ... not watch them.
Crazy thing, there are TV shows airing 24/7 on hundreds of channels. And most of them I'm not interested in. I considered yelling at the TV and demanding the TV channels stop airing shows I don't want to watch. But then I decided to just ... not watch them.
