Molest has more than one definition. In this case I would imagine "molest" means "to bother."
Why would you want to ride one? I've seen them in aquariums and they look like they're covered on algae and they're slow as hell. Not that swimming with one wouldn't be fun but I don't think I would ever hop on one and ride around.
