What they've done with him has worked so far. There will have to be a lot of hidden talent in him that comes out over the next few years for him to last though. He will have to develop as a talker, character and wrestler. You can't just not talk and squash opponents for years and stay over these days. Might have worked years ago but I don't think it will now.

Ryback is not the answer to the WWE's problems though. I don't see him as a difference maker like Hogan, Austin, Rock etc. It takes a great character or a few great characters combined with an amazing storyline that goes on for a longtime like Austin/McMahon, NWO etc. to make a big difference in the ratings imo.
