Being a drunk, a druggie or a sociopath is what I call ruining a legacy.
i would say the opposite.

If youre unfortunate enough to become addicted to stuff then thats a medical problem that needs attention. I would classify those people as sick. You cant blame a sick person for what they do, and as such for me, it doesnt tarnish their legacy for me. I just think of jake roberts being sick now.

however these guys like flair who are determined to remain in the ring or hogan and his sex tape are tarnishing their legacy. When i think of flair, i dont think of flair at his prime anymore and when i think of hogan i dont think of him lifting andre or wrestling the warrior.

i think of them as tired old men desperately trying to keep up with guys who are half their age. I think of them trying to convince us that they can beat up guys who are in their prime at 25.

and for me, thats tarnished their legacy. it doesnt matter what youve done in your past if people can only think of you as a hasbeen
