The main event of Backlash with Rock/Triple H and everything involved in the match including Stone Cold Steve Austin was exactly what was meant to happen but couldn't do because Stone Cold Steve Austin wasn't even able to do the brief involvement he did due to his neck surgery. A lot of people don't get why Stone Cold Steve Austin wasn't around from in between Backlash and Unforgiven but just that brief involvement at Backlash was something he was warned against by the doctors so WrestleMania 16 was out of the question.
