sometimes its needed bro.. fact for example sport games will shut down server quickly.. or some achievements/trophies take ages to get without help. such as Serious and Serious 2.0 in the Gear of War games..
personally i don't recommend it.. but sometimes its needed, you probably buy games sometimes on xbox live or psn network.. and notice none plays them anymore sometimes the newer games to.
