This is potentially a stupid question, but am I right in saying that some parts of the Attitude Era storylines have been adjusted subtly so they didn't have to create a few people?
I'm just about to get to Hell in a Cell in the DX storyline (doing it slow, and all the objectives
), but notice no Rick Rude, unlike real life: http://www.thehistoryofwwe.com/raw97.htm
The Undertaker defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley (w/ WWF European Champion Shawn Michaels & Chyna) via disqualification at 1:52 when Rick Rude came ringside and hit the Undertaker with the steel briefcase as Taker attempted the tombstone; prior to the contest, Bret Hart and Davey Boy Smith attacked the Undertaker until the Patriot and Vader made the save; after the bout, the Undertaker broke free of a bodybag, stalked Michaels and Helmsley up the stage, and hit the tombstone on Helmsley onto the stage as Michaels climbed the Titantron to escape
In the game, that particular match had me (HHH) beating up Undertaker badly and then hitting Undertaker with a steel chair (no Rude involved). No one attacks Taker before the belt, although what happened after the bout was the same. Was cool seeing Michaels trying to climb the titontron!
(not a criticism, more observation)
