Now I realize that Kofi isn't exactly all that liked around here due to his lack of mic skills and gimmick, but did anyone think he did pretty good on his mic time in the Miz Tv segment? Seems like since they've been giving him mic time he's starting to get more comfortable and find some personality
No, I don't think he showed any personality or a defined or remarkable character. I think he doesn't stand out on the mic despite I believe he can talk.
I think he did alright, he didn't have much to work with but he did what he had to do well enough, and he got a decent response from the crowd (not sure how much was edited in but the crowd behind seemed reasonably into it)
he knows how to deliver a promo with what he's given. Also he cuts great promos when they give him more emotional stuff to work with, like how no one believes he can be a main eventer, he is too nice, etc.
He did a good job. I just started watching WWE three months ago after a 10 year hiatus and I was pleasantly surprised based on what some have said about his mic skills.
Most of those comments were based on two things: They don't like Kofi, and Kofi hasn't spoken on the mic in awhile.
That's it.
It had zero basis on how good his mic skills actually were, since they weren't nearly as bad as they were being claimed. Kofi just wasn't getting mic time because WWE didn't want to give it to him for some reason. A lot of guys don't get mic time even when they're still on tv every week.
He did good. Didn't get much time but he delivered his part well. The guy can hold his own on the mic. His delivery is clear & He's not stumbling over words or speaking awkwardly. He'll probably never be a great mic work but he gets the job done. Needs better material tho. I too feel like he works better with more emotional promos.
It's impossible to judge someone on how good or bad their mic skills are unless they are given the right amount of time. Kofi has never had a enough time to judge whether he is good or bad, time will tell if he gets the chances. His promo on Smackdown was neither good nor bad, just served it's purpose.
Pretty good I'd say. Said what he had to say and didn't screw anything up. Can't say he was great since no one can be great with the kind of material he gets so we got the best we could hope to get out of him.
Lets hope he breaks out before Mania he almost
got that chance with his Orton feud way back but
now that he's in the light he'll either shine or burn out.
He tries too hard so everything he says sounds scripted, rehearsed, unnatural, and in some fake way happy-go-lucky... Real men don't like that. That's why the kids cheer him and the men don't.
Go back and watch the segment over again. When Kofi says his part...it just sounds weak. When the Miz starts talking, at least it sounds like he believes in what he is saying and it comes across as real. Miz probably talks like that in real life because it sounds natural. Kofi's mic work just doesn't sound natural.
