I was not really around in the Hogan era, but I'm smart enough to understand how popular he was and how he took WWF to heights it had never been before. At the peak of his years Vince would of done anything to keep hold off him.

As for Cena, well he is the big money machine weather you like him or not. They are so desperate to keep him active that he even appears on TV and too promote PPV when he is injured.

Cena really has Vince and the WWE by the balls if he wants. They can not afford to lose him and he could demand any kind of contract he wanted, all he would really have to do is threaten to leave...

In their respectful era's both had the popularity and power to get what they wanted when they wanted. They could turn big scary Vince into a scared little boy if they pleased...

But out of the two...which one has the most power?

I go for personally vote Cena. In those days many people thought wrestling was real and would go to watch grown men "fight". There was also a very well pushed roaster behind Hogan too so the attraction was there...Cena on the other hand has had a show pretty much built round him and him alone...everyone else has been made a prop to say the least...

And people fail to realize that. Everywhere Hogan goes, his crew goes and instantly get booked into high profile matches. Why the fuck was Brutus Beefcake, John Tenta, Big Bossman & Kamala main eventing in WCW? And what were the Nasty Boys even doing in the business in 2010?

It's clear Hogan had so much power that he was bringing in his buddies, constantly taking away spots from more deserving guys and not to mention, he's got a history of using his pull.

But no, these kids vote Cena because he's the top guy while people boo him and won't turn heel. IMO, there are very few who had more power than Hogan, HHH and HBK being the likely 2.

Cena has done alot but Hogan has so much more power. Everybody out there has heard of Hulk Hogan. People out there have heard of John Cena but not everyone like Hogan

What does that have to do with power?

Hogan was responsible for wrestling going through 2 boom periods. The power comes into play because he remained the focal point for the better part of 16 years. He refused to put people over and by his own account, demanded more money from Vince after his match with Orton or HBK (can't remember which exactly) and has always brought his buddies with him everywhere he went and threw them into the spotlight, as well as ratting Jesse Ventura's planned "wrestler's union" out to Vince.

Cena, as I said before, is the victim of circumstance, as former writer's have said he wants whats best for business and wants to turn heel but Vince refuses. I've also never heard of Cena refusing to job out in big matches.

Hogan didn't lose a match clean from the time he made his 2nd run in the WWE to his 1990 Wrestlemania match with Ultimate Warrior. The political stories are endless from stopping the creation of a wrestler's union to not putting people over to hooking his buddies up. And Hogan almost wormed his way out of that one but Vince was utterly convinced UW was the next megastar. Even in that match, Hogan made sure to put himself over at the end. Everyone during that time period either loved the guy or despised him.

Most horror stories of Cena being a politician come from scrubs that didn't end up making it in the WWE which may play a part in their bitterness of needing to find a scapegoat and from wrestling tabloid websites that need something to keep their hits up.

Many horror stories of Hogan come from the mouths of highly successful superstars in wrestling history like Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, etc.

1. Having and utilizing power are different.
2. Hogan's no.1. Although WWE tried, they couldn't find someone to usurp Hogan during the Golden Years.
3. Cena can be replaced, though. WWE hardly tried with Ryback and he's already super over.

1.Hulk Hogan dictated terms to Vince McMahon.Cena can't do it.Hogan was untouchable in 80's,refused to lose to Bret in 90's and Shawn last decade. There was nothing that Vince could do.
2.Hogan was untouchable at that time.Savage was a distant second and could never even come close to Hogan.
3.Cena-Tough to replace at the moment but not on Hogan's level
