Bottom line is if you're going to put someone like Ryback in this spot, you gotta go all the way with him, especially at a time when they NEED new blood. So you either have to give him the ball or not have the match at all. You can't have Punk beat him even by interference. Otherwise you risk damaging the Ryback character(which does have potential, like it or not). Either have him win and at the worst pull a Lesnar 2002-2003 on him by dropping the belt at SS, TLC or a Raw then come back to dominate and win the Rumble and the title at Mania, or not have the match at all.

There's two other options: Undertaker and Lesnar.
They established on RAW that Ryback doesn't care about the belt, he just wants 'feed me punk'. A challenge by one of those two during the match with a DQ finish keeps his undefeated streak alive, gets him out of the championship picture, and into a top level feud with a legend.
