Re: The Walking Dead Season 3 discussion thread
Ratings came in!
Quote:
So how many was that? Seventy? Eighty? How many zombies did we see de-brained last night on The Walking Dead? After last season’s fan complaint of too much farm chatting and not enough zombie killing, the third season premiere’s orgy of kill-shots surely satisfied fan blood lust (though left me wanting an Xbox controller in my hands).
Anyway, ratings! The Walking Dead returned to 10.9 million viewers Sunday night. That’s a series high for the show and up more than 50 percent from season two. And that’s not including the encore telecast — do that and the show rockets to 15.2 million viewers for the night. (Clearly, not having Dish Network on board isn’t hurting the show — though imagine how many more viewers the episode might have had without the dispute).
The Walking Dead delivered a 5.8 rating in 18-49. That’s stunning. AMC claims the telecast was the highest-rated program of the fall in the adult demo — higher than all broadcast shows. That sounds right, but we’re checking that out.
Walking Dead is definitely the most successful basic cable drama of all time in the adults 18-49 demographic. Last season’s finale delivered a then-record 9 million viewers, a full 6 million of which were in the demo.
