I agree with OP and he is spot on. Look at the return of Brock Lesnar, he bloodied Cena and they had a real extreme match at ER. Why are Sheamus and Del Rio not allowed to have a match like this? And before the response "if that happens in every match it would not feel special", they fought against each other 200 times on PPV, at least one time they could make it extreme to create a memorable moment in their boring and bland feud.
Cena's mouth was bloody after the attack of Lesnar and they showed the replay 10 times in the show. Randy Orton attacks Cody Rhodes with a ring bell, busts him open and they censor it and remove videos from YouTube.
Not censoring would help Cody a lot because all the fans who dislike him would say that he is maybe too skinny, too bland, has only a job because he is a Rhodes but he can take a beating like a real man and a real wrestler and he earned respect of some people.
Yes, the hypocrisy exists and the current wrestlers are really held down. The Vince vs. Punk main event was more extreme than all the Hell in a Cell matches we had in the PG era
