As for his potential, if it wasn't so abruptly ended, I think the Ryder Revolution could've lasted. Midcard for life, sure, but there is nothing wrong with that.
Eventually his character would evolve and such (hopefully), but the fact that Ryder is still over to this day just tells us how good things could have been.
