Superstars dropped because the contract expired and the WWE didn't bother to try and renew it. They thought they had their WWE Network launching fairly soon, and they were going to toss Superstars onto it. They'd also planned to toss NXT onto the network, which is why they didn't really try to find someplace else to put it.
None of those shows failed due to ratings.

ECW was cancelled and replaced with NXT in an attempt to make Sci-Fi happy since ECW continuously had low ratings. You are right about NXT being replaced for SD, but in reality NXT was more than likely going to get cancelled anyway. In theory they just did the same thing over. Replace a failing show with another show.
WGN dropped Superstars because of it's declining ratings. Superstars was moved online, then dropped because low viewing.
