No. You're talking about BUYING a game. Which works the same way on PS3. (Including buying and downloading them off of PSN). Except you don't have to pay to play them online.
We were talking about the games you recieve for being a PS+ member, which you're allowed to play at no extra cost for as long as you're a member. (Simillar to being able to watch movies on Netflix. You can't keep watching them when you cancel your subscription).
