Transport for London can...

...kiss my fucking ass.

So, I recently had to attend 2 seperate wedding for 2 of my oldest friends.

One of which was in Cornwall and one was in Essex. As they were about 4 days apart I had a few days to kill and decided to spend them visiting family members that I don't see often, normally just Christmas time.

So I saw my Grandparents in Bristol and then to London to meet my new little Nephew, who was just 2 months old. Cute as hell!!

I then proceeded to drive from their house in London to Essex for the final wedding before heading home, all via cheap unreliable sat nav on my iphone.

It was an amazing week and very expensive as you can imagine. Lots of money spent on gifts and about £200 on pertrol to zoom about the country even some accomodation costs aswell.

I'm not a tight person with money, in fact i'd consider myself quite generous at times.

So, Today I get a text from my girlfriend as I'm sat at my desk at work. She tells me I have a letter and that she's going to open it. It was from 'Trans-cunt for London'.

They have not only sent me a leaflet all about the 'Congestion charge/zone' but ordered me to pay £60 by the 11th October 2012. If i dont it'll be £120.

A bit fucking steap if you ask me.

Stupid cunts!!

Maybe I should have checked about it before I went.

My understanding was that if you enter the zone you get a bill through the post...

Didn't it used to be £6 or something? anyway...

...not that you have to pay it on the day of driving through it or in advance. I had no idea that i would be driving through London until the day I drove through London and had no idea I needed to sort it out first.

I feel conned.

Now, I know pleading ignorance won't really work. I was going to try blagging that I was going on holiday and couldn't pay it before I got back?

Any ideas for excuses? Any that have worked? Shoud I cry down the phone.

Anyone had similar experiences with this charge or any other parking/traffic charges?
