Do you see them lasting very long as a tag team and maybe even winning the tag titles? or are they going to be fed to Kane and Bryan and break up after that?
Why do they have to put Sandow and Rhodes into a team?
I don't like it. These guys are singles superstars. This tag team run could ruin one of them. What was wrong with PTP, Mysterio/Cara, and the other tag teams?
Re: Why do they have to put Sandow and Rhodes into a team?
I hope and pray it's only temporary. Not that I dislike them as a team, but they're better off on their own. Really, I think it's a combination of WWE building their tag team division by using proper talent, and gaining heat by facing Kane and Daniel Bryan.
Re: Why do they have to put Sandow and Rhodes into a team?
Only reason I like it is because it gives Rhodes something to do, who had been stuck in no-man's land since losing the IC title. Otherwise I agree, they're both better off as singles competitors, especially Sandow, who has been on a nice roll recently.
Re: Why do they have to put Sandow and Rhodes into a team?
Probably because both have nothing to do right now and they want to feature them both. Great way to do so in putting them in a team in a newly revived tag team division.
I like the tag team. It gives them something to do while two other heels hold the midcard titles.
WWE clearly seems high on Sandow, so I don't think that they are going to do anything that would hurt him unless he violates the wellness policy or something. Rhodes on the other hand.. When they implode, Rhodes would probably get the worse end of the deal.
They won't last that long, and tbh that's a good thing since it doesn't really help either one of them to be in a tag team. Sandow is a good personality by himself, and Rhodes needs to get back into the IC title picture.
Tyrion, btw, Rhodes will be the bitch of the duo. I think it's already established if you consider how poorly they've been pushing Rhodes lately. Sandow stands out more than Rhodes already (while solo), so it'd make less sense for him to take the losses (never been pinned) or end up taking the blame for failures. Rhodes' character has pretty much already been built to take punishment and get made fun of.

It IS a bad thing. No, he's not a failure but only because he FINALLY got his moment with winning the world title. He would never have been given that opportunity if Edge's career wasn't cut short by doctor's orders. Never in a million years, it was a pure sympathy push to make Edge happy because he had to retire.
Until Extreme Rules 2011, he was a complete failure, a complete, midcard, minor league failure. And I fucking love Christian but the truth is what it is. If you haven't had the world title, you're nothing, your career has no merit and I won't accept Sandow as nothing.
What is this? Don't tell me you buy into such a ridiculous philosophy? That's the definition of markdom.
Putting that aside, I actually wouldn't mind having Sandow and Rhodes bounce in the midcard and be occasionally inserted into a higher up role where they may participate in the main event scene on occasion (along with DB and Kane of course). That's only a personal preference though as I know slow steady pushes are a rarity in today's climate. I want to see some legitimate acts who can be a long lasting impression in viewer's minds rather than recreating a similar scenario to "oh yeah, that Jack Swagger guy. Wasn't that tard a world champ before he fell into a fissure?" Quick, half baked pushes very rarely work unless there's a strong premise behind the character/performer.
Rhodes is better than Sandow but that doesn't mean I don't think Sandow is bad he is still great but it's good that they r keeping them in the mix since they have no fueds right now as singles.
I like both of these guys but am honestly surprised to see this thread reach it's 10th page. Kudos I guess. Either way, this has short-term written all over it. They won't be affected by the 'tag split curse' for 2 reasons: Firstly, they're not a legit tag team. Secondly, both are at completely different points in their careers.

There are LEGENDS who have never been the WWE Champion. This attitude is the reason why all the other belts have been devalued over the years. If people didn't think like this, WWE would've never created a second World Title and handed out title reigns like candy. The IC and U.S. Titles might still be booked to mean something if people stopped thinking like this.

WTH? Are you trying to tell us that the minority on this forum, who actually give a shit about the championships, are at fault in the title devaluation. If anything, people like you, who consider titleless wrestlers legends and don't give a shit about who is carrying the main championships, are the reason the belts are devalued.
Let me put it this way. ADR has been WWE champion. Devaluing of the title? Or valuing of ADR? I consider the WWE championship worthy on its own and anyone that gets a piece of it is instantly more valued in my eyes than someone, who never had it? How the hell does this devalue anything else than those superstars, who never win the title?
"Rhodes Scholars" makes not one bit of sense, since neither man pursued a foreign, Ivy League education. Pairing Sandow was bad for Sandow, and good for Rhodes. Right now I think Cody should be in line for a "face" turn, but that won't happen teaming with Damien Sandow. Honestly, I think if the WWE were going to pair anyone with Damien it should have been David Otunga. He is a former tag team champion himself, and that should have peaked interest from Sandow. Also, Otunga is obviously well read as he graduated from Harvard Law. You can't have a better pair than this in terms of character similarities. They should have paired Otunga, and Sandow together, and named them "The Illuminated Ones", or "The Intellects of Pain".
I'm loving these guys as a team but I'm hoping they don't last too long as I'd like to see each of them break out on their own soon. But yeah, good stuff.
I think both guys are doing great as a tag team and will continue to push each other up to the top. After a short run with the tag titles, one might turn face (probably Cody cause he has been there before) and feud with one another, let their ego's get the better of them before heading into the upper mid card/main scene.
Oddly enough the numbers are close He is a 4 time tag team champion (with 3 different partners). Rhodes Scholars is his 4th team. He's a 2 time IC champion so that's 6 title reigns, 4 teams and for entrance songs 4 of his own, Legacy's, as well as the 2 Priceless songs. In fact, he may not have had many title reigns but his IC title reign is all time top 10 in length, and interestingly in 2008 (I think), he held the World Tag Team Title for around 300 days (of course including the split with Holly and alignment with Dibiase as well as the 7 day reign of Cena and Batista).
Surprised but pleased with the little development on RAW. They got a nice little minitron (and titantron) for the team (although there isn't much going on with it).
