With iPhone, it is more of a parent phone. They set limits on certain things(Reason why you have to go through iTunes for ANYTHING) and don't really allow the phone to have it's own identity. It's just a iPhone and that is it. With the Android phone, more specifically the S3, you're allowed what you can or willing.
If you want to completely redesign everything about your home screen or your lock screen, you can. Heck, I believe you can download a app to make the home screen and lock screen the Apple version. You want more memory than the S3 came with? Just buy a SD card and put whatever you like. No iTunes or any other system to go through. Just opens like a original flash and the phone will not discriminate. Your battery went to shit because of the awful chargers you used within the year? Get a new one. You can multitask by watching a video AND sending a message at the same time. Seriously, the only thing that phone is lacking is a kickstand.
