Re: WCW: 1998

Nitro is live from Baltimore Maryland, and it’s is sure to be an explosive night!

The Fallout:

WCW has a new Champion, and it is Sting! That’s right, folks, Sting overcame Hollywood Hulk Hogan and the rest of the nWo to win the title back for WCW. This was Sting’s first match in over a year, but he showed no ring rust, and forced Hogan to submit to the Scorpion Death Lock. Bret Hart used his referee’s license to ensure the nWo and shady referee Nick Patrick called the match down the middle.

Who’s Next?

Goldberg continues his impressive string of victories with a win over Steve McMichael last night. Goldberg has to have his sights set on winning a strap! Is Goldberg planning to issue a challenge to Disco Inferno for the Television Title? The only problem there, is that Eric Bischoff has already place Inferno in a match with “Lionheart” Chris Jericho.

Number 1 contender?

Sting won the belt, but who does he face at Souled Out for the belt? Eric Bischoff and JJ Dillon have an interesting choice to make!

Where’s Kevin Nash?

Nash was not in the nWo’s corner at Starrcade, but his tag team partner, Scott Hall was. Is there dissention in the ranks? When will Nash re-appear? The Outsiders have limited time to defend the Tag Team titles before they are forced to vacate them.

WCW on top of the world!

As of last night, WCW has control of every championship except those World Tag Team Titles. Diamond Dallas Page beat Curt Hennig for the U.S. Title, as well as Sting’s victory. Hennig and Page don’t appear to be done though, because Hennig feels cheated out of the belt, and Page is open to a rematch to prove how good he really is.

WCW.com is reporting that a few things are set for tonight’s show:
Booker T vs Scott Steiner
Disco Inferno vs Chris Jericho for the WCW Television Title
Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko vs Raven and Saturn
Goldberg will address the crowd

Want to know who will win? You have got to tune in TONIGHT at 8pm on TNT to find out!
