Re: How big was Ultimate Warrior in his prime?
6'2 , 285 lbs
He was the Icon of that era. Who else could claim to pin Hogan clean on PPV before he did that in the Champion vs Champion match at WM VI? NOBODY!
He was mega over. Fans loved him. He was ELECTRIFYING the crowds with his intensity and energy, just like The Rock would do almost a decade later. He was becoming a true alternative for Hogan but poor booking decisions, and McMahon being an asshole were the reasons that he could not replace Hogan. McMahon has this habit of not paying performers their PPV salary on time, and Warrior made sure he didnt work without getting paid, which pissed Vince off. Warrior had held Vince on separate occasion regarding monetary issues.
Warrior's promos may not make much sense, but they were great enough to captivate fans of all ages. His matches may be short, but were intense and electric. His run-up to the ring was amazing, and fans would look at him in awe while he would sprint to the ring and do his shtick. He was a face painted phenomenon, bigger than everybody (except Hogan), bigger than Macho Man, bigger than Taker, bigger than Piper at that time
well the reason he couldn't replace Hogan was also because the cartoon era came to an end
