Re: Football teams you love, like and hate....
Will always have a soft spot for Man Utd, given I was brought up following them and have some great home/away memories, but ever since early 2010 my support for FCUM (FC United of Manchester) developed from respecting their desire to break away from Man Utd and form their own club, to an active following of them in their stance against modern football and the sweeping commercialism which has rooted itself in the game.
Cheap affordable football with one of the best supports in the country, a good laugh with people watching football in a relaxed and jubilant fashion rather than worrying about promotion not looking likely, exactly how it should be.
Never been a fan of other clubs, always been 'Big United' or now 'Little United' but I've usually had respect for a lot of other managers and therefore I've not exactly rooted against their teams, although I'd fall well short of actually 'liking' and having a proper interest in any other team, people like David Moyes, Alan Pardew (at Newcastle), Curbishley in his Charlton days, Martinez at Wigan etc. Good, respectful managers who've done excellent jobs on shoe-string budgets and generally come across as more respectful and humble than other personalities in football.
As for teams/fans I dislike/hate:
Man City. Should be obvious. Their fans are without doubt the worst to be subjected to when you're losing to them, whether they were the annoying obsessive twats back in the days when they were a mid-table club, constantly clinging onto the deluded belief that no-one in Manchester supports United, or that they were a people's club and took pride in not being a money spending monopoly like Chelsea or United (HA), or as they are now as the arrogant and annoying tits now suddenly abandoning all their past grievances at how United, Chelsea and others spent obscene amounts of money, taking pride in having a worldwide following when they used to chastise United, Liverpool, Chelsea and others for this etc. Words cannot do justice to them.
Leeds. Fuck 'em. I grudgingly respect their support and the fact they managed to get insane numbers in the League 1 days, but still the Leeds/Man Utd rivalry is well documented and I loathe the horrible bastards. Everything from constant paper aeroplanes at our games, vandalisings the toilets in OT with Munich abuse (particularly when Leeds Rhinos in the Rugby League play in the Grand Final at OT) to jeering during a minute's silence for Matt Busby shortly after his death. Tbf United fans are just as bad with the Istanbul banners and chants, so I have no mither with Leeds fans hating us, but still, fuck 'em.
Liverpool. Much like Leeds and City, horrible set of fans with their Munich abuse ensuring constant Munich/Hillsbrough chants dominate any fixture between both clubs. Attacking Alan Smith's ambulance after his leg break at their ground in 05, stanley knives slashing fans up and down the country in the 70s/80s and occasionaly 90s, obsessed with some FA conspiracy that they're always hard done by etc. Always good for a laugh, but christ when things actually do go their way only City are worse for having to stomach their jubliation. Oh and who can forget bottles/cups of piss/excrement being launched at us in numerous games at Anfield.
Stoke. Fans are absolutely obsessed with us and have been trying to make the annual Stoke/Utd matches at the Britannia stadium feel like something special every year when its not even on Utd fans' radar. Munich abuse to try and spite United fans, constant chants about them being a primarily local support despite averaging pitiful attendances in the Championship days and only getting close to sell out games when they got promoted etc etc. Pulis is generally an alright bloke from the little I follow of him, but their fans are just something else. You can say the same for Bolton, though with them its more a pocket of fans (about 500) in the far corner of the ground who have this hilarious obsession with United and City/Liverpool year on year.
Millwall. Not much needs to be said to anyone who's heard of them. Vile set of creatures and despite them being a throwback to the 80s in terms of suppport and atmosphere, a lot of their fans are just infinitely hateable. Constantly trying to bait Leeds, Cardiff and Livepool with respective tragedies in the hopes of sparking some violence. Hate them.
