That's true. I think with consistency, though, that would actually benefit them to have matches like that. Might get interest back up in the B PPVs. At the same time though, I'm sure most fans at this point are pretty set on what they're going to order each year with WM and SS being at the top followed by Rumble and then SSeries and perhaps something like EC or MITB as a fifth.
WWE pretty much ruined the Summerslam value in the last few years, Royal Rumble became by far the second biggest PPV of the year. The Rumble concept proved to be brilliant as an attraction and it's working every year, even years with horrible hype like 2011-2012. I think it's WM, Rumble, Summerslam, SVS and ER as the top 5 in that order. But yeah, it's hard to build a show when you know it's just a filler for the big show. Maybe this pattern is going to end anyway with the Network, if they're serious about moving the B PPVs.
