WWE Monday Night Raw Preview- 15/8/05- Rochester, New York

It is just SIX nights until the biggest party of the summer, Summerslam! Tonight marks the final stop on the road to Washington for the stars of Monday Night Raw and it is sure to be as heated as hostile as you could expect with championships, futures, careers all hanging in the balance after tonight.

Last week saw a shocking conclusion to Raw as we were shown an image of Shawn Michaels laid out cold backstage, surrounded in a pool of his own blood with the Big Red Machine, Kane standing by, laughing in a sick, menacing manner. You would have to assume this was the work of the Devil’s Favourite Demon, however, we have learned that tonight Kane will speak on the issue and rumour has it, all is not quite what it seems. Will the Heartbreak Kid even be in New York tonight? What has Kane got to say? Will Eric Bischoff reprimand the monster he is desperate to see take gold come Sunday? And will the World Champion himself, Batista have anything to say on the matter?

The Intercontinental Champion will be in action here tonight as Muhammad Hassan will go one on one with the man who can call himself ‘Money’ come Sunday, Chris Jericho. Jericho faces Edge at Summerslam with the Rated R Superstar’s Money in the Bank contract up for grabs following a heated rivalry between these two men. Can Jericho build some momentum here tonight or will the current Mr.MITB have something else in mind? For Hassan it is all about keeping the momentum he gained last week when he pinned his opponent come Sunday, Shelton Benjamin. Hassan has continued to gain the upper hand on Benjamin and with six nights to go until their showdown, another strong outing from Hassan would no doubt put even more worry into the challenger’s mind.

Speaking of Benjamin, he and Charlie Haas will take on The Heart Throbs tonight. Haas has been on a roll of late, winning left, right and centre, in the process trying to spur on his partner but so far failing to do so with Benjamin continuing to suffer defeat. Will tonight be the night that Shelton gets back on the saddle and build steam towards Summerslam or will Haas once again outshine his partner?

More Tag Team action is also scheduled as the Basham Brothers will take on Sonjay Dutt and Daivari of the Arabian Entity. These two teams will be on opposite sides of the ring at Summerslam as part of an 8 man tag team match but tonight it’s two on two. Who will leave New York with a win under their belt and who will leave with a mountain to climb come Summerslam?

Mark Jindrak takes on Big Show this Sunday in what will no doubt be a brutal No Holds Barred contest. Tonight Jindrak has requested a warm up match and his request has been granted. Jindrak will go one on one with another giant of a man in Rosey with the No Holds Barred stipulation in place. How will Jindrak fare heading into this deadly enviroment and can he send a message to the World’s Largest Athlete?

And finally, tonight may mark the final night on Raw for the Nature Boy himself, Ric Flair. This Sunday, Flair will put his career on the line against Christian and has been afforded the chance here tonight to speak to the audience, with GM Eric Bischoff claiming that this is Flair’s goodbye. We won’t know on Sunday but it is sure to be an emotional one here tonight and you have to wonder whether Flair will be able to get it all out and just whether or not his opponent on Sunday will simply stand back and allow Flair this moment.

All this to come LIVE on Monday Night Raw as well as much, much more. You won’t wanna miss it!

Confirmed for tonight’s show:

No Holds Barred:
Mark Jindrak vs. Rosey

The Basham Brothers vs. The Arabian Entity

The World’s Greatest Tag Team vs. The Heart Throbs

Muhammad Hassan vs. Chris Jericho

Ric Flair’s ‘Goodbye’

And more on the attack of Shawn Michaels last week

Massive, massive thanks to all those who reviewed Smackdown. Probably the most reviews i've ever had and i greatly appreciate it. This will be up sometime next week. Until then, ciao.
