Lawler and Race were a fine breed of performers who could accomplish so much using understated formula. They packed a ton of quality character work and build-up to the finish that Memphis had no choice but to explode in this broadway. Lawler's punches were thunderous in significance and Race's bumping and selling for King was wonderful.
