Default Re: Question For John Cena Fans

My opinions on Cena really fluctuate because of one particular issue he has. Aside from the obvious poor booking decisions and his character's occasional obnoxiousness, I find him to be pretty reliant on good matches based on who his opponent is. I'm not saying he needs to be carried every match, but rather, if his opponent isn't good, then he wont look good either. If you're relying on him to carry a match, don't hold your breath any time soon.

Case in point: His series with Kane earlier this year. Horrible. But if you really look at it, Kane seemed pretty terrible already. His moveset had depleted rapidly to just strikes and the occasional chokeslam. But then, look at his match with Lesnar at Extreme Rules. Awesome. Lesnar had come at him with a certain brutality and MMA style rarely seen before, making him a great opponent.

Aside from that, I do feel he's kind of lost track of what direction his character is going. How he managed to transfer from gangster territory into a dude clad in shiny merchandise that all we know just opposes heels is kind of frustrating. But nevertheless, I do enjoy watching Cena if he can really be given with some opportunity to shine, and not be lumbered with poor opponents, and also his promos which occasionally bring a smile to my face. Despite all this, I'm very sure I wouldn't come under the "Cena Fan" label.

tl;dr: Because he's fun to watch on occasion. Hugs? :3
