Re: World Wrestling Entertainment - Reviving A Legacy
Hey folks, thanks for the comments thus far. Here's a little RAW news-bit as well as the RAW preview. Once again thanks, and hope you enjoy. Raw will be up shortly.
WWE RAW News & Notes
Reported By: Wrestling Observer/F4Online – April 6, 2009
RAW is being broadcast from the Reliant Astrodome in Houston, Texas tonight following last night’s WrestleMania 25, and many twists and turns are expected over the course of the next few weeks, reports F4Online.
According to Dave Meltzer, the feud between Randy Orton and WWE Champion Triple H is in full force, as both men are happy with the program, and want to continue it. Our earlier reports indicated that they were disappointed in their match last night, and apparently thought it could’ve went better, but many backstage were still supportive and happy with the result. Expect further stuff between the two.
Also to note, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker put on one of the greatest matches of the year last night, and both are reportedly very happy with the end result, and are expecting to continue the program once they return. It’s been speculated that both of these stars are taking hiatuses from the WWE, but should return in the next few months.
Speaking of returns and hiatuses, Batista has been telling friends lately that he is near set to return from his injuries, and is expecting a return within the next few months, possibly even sooner. Also to note, the segment that was featured last night following the Intercontinental Championship match with JBL where he quit was apparently foreshadowing legitimacy, as JBL wrote on his WWE Universe blog this morning the following:
“Ladies & Gentlemen, I wanted to let Each & Every One Of You know that I have decided to go in an opposite direction, and have decided not to renew my WWE contract and have given my notice of leave. My contract will expire on May 1st. Thank you all for the opportunities.
With that said, as well as others reportedly seeking time off, many are expecting stars including CM Punk, Miz, John Morrison, Jack Swagger, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase to make the move up to the next levels, and take the places of those leaving, according to our source. Many backstage are praising and scouting several of these stars, and much is expected. Stay tuned.
Also to note, Dave Meltzer reports that the reasoning behind DJ Gabriel and The Burchill’s move to RAW was to continue the feud the trio had transpiring on ECW, as well as many WWE execs being high on the trio. Also, Jack Swagger, The Miz, and John Morrison were moved to the RAW brand as all three of them are expected to make huge impacts on the show within the next few months, many believing that the three of them are a part of the future of the company. Stay tuned for more.
It’s now been confirmed – WWE has signed Nigel McGuiness and AJ Lee to developmental contracts, and according to numerous reporters, both are apparently backstage at RAW today. Nothing is known as of yet, but both are expected to be definite main-roster additions within the next few months. Speaking of developmental, TJ Wilson, Sheamus O’Shaunnesy, DH Smith, and Drew McIntyre were spotted at WrestleMania last night, and are reportedly in the area today. Dave Meltzer reports that several of the talent were flown in, and are being talked with and prospected by WWE executives. More will be known shortly, stay tuned.
In an exclusive late breaking news story, WWE has announced that Backlash will no longer be in Providence, and have moved it to the TD Banknorth Arena in Boston, Massachusetts. WWE has announced that the event at the Dunkin' Donuts Arena in Providence will be rescheduled, and they are giving refunds to those who purchased tickets.
RAW Preview – 4/6/09
Less than twenty four hours removed from the historic 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, the Stars of RAW bring you the first Post-WrestleMania event of the season, as we illuminate from Reliant Astrodome in beautiful Houston, Texas.
Last night at the historic event, WWE Champion ‘The Game’ Triple H stood tall when the smoke cleared in his epic battle with Legacy’s ‘Apex Predator’ Randy Orton. Through thick and thin, these two future Hall of Famers went through hell with one another, and last night was probably not the end of it. What will the WWE Champ have to face regarding his win last night, and his opponent and nemesis Randy Orton? Will ‘The Viper’ have any words? Find out tonight!
Also last night, Chris Jericho did what he said he’d do – beat Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, and Jimmy Snuka – in the epic 3-on-1 Legends match with sixteen time World Champion Ric Flair in their corner. After the match however, it was not all sunshine for the former Y2J, as actor MICKEY ROURKE got the last laugh, with a devastating punch to Jericho. What will an irate Jericho have to say? Is this the end, or just the beginning? Find out tonight on RAW!
Also tonight, we’ll hear from new Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio following his upset victory over the former champ JBL – all in 21 seconds. It wasn’t the biggest shocker though – after the match, JBL quit! Will Mysterio bring in a new era for the title? Who will be next in line? Will we hear from JBL? Stay tuned and be sure to check it out!
All this and much, much more on tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW! Live from the Reliant Astrodome in Houston, Texas.
