Either that or, as I said, it was a work that backfired. I'm not saying Bret was wrong in going back, but it's funny how his and HBK's version of the screwjob have drastically changed since 1997. Was Bret really that humiliated? I mean, did the screwjob really negatively affect his career?
Obviously it did, Bret's career basically ended that night. He had a shit run in WCW and never wrestled full time again. Bret to this day is still butt hurt about the screwjob and I honestly don't blame him. HBK was such a POS, I guarantee Brett wouldn't mind doing the job for anyone else (yes even in Montreal). Vince could have compromised with Bret but instead he fucked the guy over.
