Re: When you think of WCW, who is the first person to come into your mind?

When i think of NWA/Jim Crockett Promotions then i think of Ric Flair instantly because he was the main man and the person the company was built around but when NWA/JCP transitioned into WCW then i think of Sting every single time. In early 1991 Ric Flair was trying to negotiate with Vince McMahon and go to WWE because of his hatred of Jim Herd but at the same time he had already been replaced by Sting by then as the face of the company.

When people talk about someone representing WCW or the face of WCW the name that everyone always came up with was Sting and even all the ex WCW wrestlers from the early 1990's through the companies demise in 2001 call Sting "the franchise player of WCW" which tells you everything you need to know. It was Sting who carried WCW through it's transitional phase from NWA/JCP, it was Sting who carried WCW when Ric Flair wasn't in the company, it was Sting who was still the heart and soul of WCW when Hulk Hogan brought all his friends in, it was Sting who went up against The New World Order as the top star in WCW and it was Sting who was booked to win the final ever match on Nitro and all these things happened for the simple reason Sting WAS WCW.
