>Cena vs. Punk. . . It’s Official!<

Last night on Smackdown the last four superstars left in the tournament to determine the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship met in an elimination match, and the last man standing was none other than John Cena.

Cena fought his way through Dolph Ziggler, Bryan Danielson and finally Edge to earn himself a shot at CM Punk’s world title, something he’s been looking to do since returning to Smackdown three months ago. Danielson in particular made a strong impression and looked like he was going to cause a giant upset in his early WWE career, but it was Cena that came through after making Edge tap out to the STFU with the World Champion watching closely from the stage.

Now the stage is set for these two to finally collide head on, will Cena be able to silence Punk and walk out of Night of Champions and into 2009 as the new World Champion in line with the agenda Punk has spoken of so much? Only time will tell.

>Can a Mexican become the new United States Champion?<

We learned last night from the United States Champion, Matt Sydal that he will defend his title next weekend against the man who struck his girlfriend last week, albeit accidentally it would seem in Alberto Del Rio-Ramirez.

The Mexican did appear to show some remorse for his actions, but the King of the Ring was adamant he wanted to get his hands on the Mexican who’s managed to get two fortuitous wins over Sydal in the last month or so. If he can pick up another at Night of Champions then he’ll be leaving Cleveland with some gold.
