Re: WWE 2011: Pushing the Boundaries
Thanks a lot cp and game for those comments - much appreciated! Just to answer a point made is that yes, Rock/Cena is still on the cards at Wrestlemania. Nothing definite, but I do have an idea to maybe bring Rock in for a while around Survivor Series, not 100% if he will be needed though. Anyway, time for some news and notes!
NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS NEWS
This past Friday on Smackdown we learnt that Sheamus, John Morrison and The Great Khali have all qualified for the Six-Pack Challenge at for the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions. Sheamus dispatched of Jinder Mahal, whilst Morrison returned to Smackdown and defeated the struggling Christian and Khali won a Battle Royal including the entire Smackdown roster. All three of these men have held gold at one point or another in their WWE careers, so none of them are to be taken lightly in Buffalo. They join the champion Randy Orton, Mark Henry and Wade Barrett.
Also announced on Friday is that Beth Phoenix has finally earned herself a Divas Championship Match in her home town at the Pay-Per-View against Kelly Kelly. The dominant Divas has tore her way through the beautiful ladies of the WWE, but if she is not able to topple the champion at Night of Champions, Phoenix will NEVER be allowed to contend for the butterfly championship ever again!
MYSTERIO GONE AFTER NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS
Mysterio has been competing with an injured knee since mid July, and it is thought that the end of the Mysterio/Ziggler saga will come at Night of Champions to allow Rey to recover from his injuries. What this means for the championship is that Ziggler will retain, but where he goes from here is uncertain at this time.
ARCHER NOT RESIGNING
Earlier reports of former WWE Superstar Vance Archer resigning with the company have turned out to be false, as the talks have appeared to have broken down. His rumoured role was to apparently act as Heath Slater's tag team partner, but Archer, real name Lance Hoyt, wanted to return as a singles competitor, and he subsequently decided to reject WWE's offer.
FCW TAG TEAM EXPECTED TO DEBUT SOON
The recent upheaval of the tag team division and its hopeful return to prominence continues as it is thought that the luchador team of Hunico and Epico in FCW could be brought onto television soon as part of the detailed effort to create a division. With teams such as Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov, David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty as well as a rumoured push for Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis on the cards as a tag team, the future looks bright for the tag team wrestlers
